Chinato wine originated in the mid-19th century as curative drinks.
Since then they have continued to be made because their taste is particularly pleasant. Of course, they have changed use and today are sipped at the end of a meal as a digestive.
The one from Cascina La Badia does not disappoint either accompanied by desserts or drunk alone.
It is made from the red wine produced in the Cascina – but we cannot tell you which one, since, alas, secrecy about the variety applies – and is flavored with medicinal herbs and botanical essences.
Sight
It is garnet in color.
Nose
Its fragrance is very intense and recalls the universe of spices and fruits.
Taste
It is smooth, marked by a pleasant fresh and bitter finish.
Pairing tips
Try it with desserts that are not overly sweetened, or made with dark chocolate. It’s also perfect at the end of a meal, as a meditation wine: one glass leads to another.
It’s your guy if…
…You love the complexity of chinato wines. Don’t underestimate it if you love Christmas 😉
