Ambrass in Piedmontese means hug, and this Langhe DOC Rosso is precisely an encounter between barbera and nebbiolo grapes, which takes place only shortly before bottling.
The decision to vinify the two varieties separately allows the characteristics of both to be expressed to the full. And when they come together in a strong grip, a special wine is born, which smells of Barbera, but envelops you with the softness and structure of Nebbiolo.
In short, you have to taste it!
Sight
The colour is typical of Barbera, a beautiful ruby red.
Nose
It is fruity, with hints of plum and cherry.
Taste
The Nebbiolo characteristic prevails on the palate, so it is dry and rightly tannic. It is structured, enveloping and soft.
Pairing tips
Try it with elaborate meats, pasta with ragù or meat sauce or with a nice big sauce. If you prefer, mature cheeses also go well with it.
Fancy a pampering, but not hungry? It’s great on its own, for a relaxing moment at the end of the day.
It’s your guy if…
…You love Nebbiolo and Barbera and are curious to find them in a single wine.
