In the Langhe, every place once had its own name and a story to tell. Mont Rüss means “red hill” and refers to a small hill with reddish, hard, clay-rich soil, where only resilient plants like grapevines can thrive.
This is where Giovanni and Marco grow their Pinot Noir, in a single vineyard site where the vines sink their roots into soil rich in iron-bearing minerals, clay and silt. Conditions that contribute to the wine’s structure and minerality.
Sight
It has a light, clear ruby-red color.
Nose
You’ll pick up aromas of red berries, particularly cherry, raspberry and strawberry.
Taste
It’s smooth and enjoyable, with an easy-drinking character, helped by its relatively moderate alcohol content. It has a lingering finish and a structure complemented by minerality. It also shows good potential for bottle ageing.
Pairing tips
Giovanni and Marco don’t believe in limiting food pairings: as far as they’re concerned, this Pinot Noir goes with practically everything. Consider it an invitation to experiment at the table and follow your own tastes.
It’s your guy if…
…You love elegant, refined wines that are easy to drink but still leave a lasting impression.
