Madernassa pear takes its name from a village in the Roero where it originated. The mother plant dates back to 1784 and was demolished in 1914 at the age of 130 years.
It is raised in a plot of Borgata Madernassa, located about half a hill between the villages of Vezza and Guarene, where our company is located.
This fruit is characterized by remarkable rusticity. The skin has a yellowish-green colouring, with shades that, depending on the cultivation environment, it’s colored in shades from red to gray-brown.
The flesh is particularly crispy and fragrant with a sweet taste.
