This Dolcetto d’Alba DOC comes from Cortemilia and is part of the area’s winemaking heritage, so much so that it is protected as a Slow Food Presidium.
It is made from 100% Dolcetto grapes, grown on slightly sandy, marly soils.
The grapes are harvested by hand in the second half of September, followed by vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
The result is a fruity, smooth and versatile red, made for the table without too much ceremony.
Sight
It has a beautiful intense ruby-red color, bright and vibrant.
Nose
The aroma is fruity and immediate, with notes of cherry.
Taste
The tannins are soft and round, with good persistence. Cherry returns on the finish, together with a characteristic almond note.
Pairing tips
Bring it to the table with Piedmontese appetizers, cured meats and aged cheeses, or with a plate of agnolotti with ragù or buttered tajarin. You can also pair it with white meats and roasts.
To avoid: desserts, vinegar-based dishes, and particularly rich fish or meat dishes.
It’s your guy if…
…You’re looking for an everyday red that’s easy to drink and easy to pair, and you want to discover wines that tell the story of a local tradition that is still very much alive.
