To produce this Barbera, the Borgogno family uses grapes from a vineyard planted in the 1960s, which is located in Monforte d’Alba.
Since these are old vines, production is rather limited, but the fruit is of great quality.
The resulting wine is distinguished by its finesse, although it retains a semblance of roughness. You will like it because it is “gritty”, with a robust structure.
A classic of our lands, linked to the history and culture of Piedmont.
Sight
It is bright red with violet hues when the wine is young; deep ruby red after aging.
Nose
The fragrance is intense and fruity.
Taste
On tasting you will find it bitterish, but full-bodied, dry and fresh.
Pairing tips
It is perfect for grilling! It is the red that the Borgogno family believes goes best with barbeque: structured, but at the same time balanced, its acidity gives balance to the fat of the meat.
Also try it with game and aged cheeses.
Serving temperature: 18 – 19 °C.
It’s your guy if…
…You love structured wines that nevertheless retain a fruity note.
