This Barbera is considered the historical memory and treasure of Cascina La Badia.
The grapes used to produce it come from a vineyard planted partly in 1940 and partly in 1950 that is located on the ridge of the hill.
Sight
It is deep carmine red with garnet hues.
Nose
The aroma is fine and elegant, with hints of fresh, ripe fruit. An elegant boisée note completes the bouquet.
Taste
It is full, elegant, textured. With great structure and persistence.
Pairing tips
It is a gastronomic wine and is exalted at the table, especially when paired with meat dishes. Try it with Fiorentina steak, roasts and game. Alternatively, it will be perfect with aged cheeses.
To avoid: of course with desserts and fish dishes.
It’s your guy if…
…You seek a structured, complex wine that can be enjoyed slowly.
