The soils of Roero give the wine structure, which is why Francesco Rosso labels are rarely drunk in vintages, but are much more ‘ready’ when they rest longer.
This is also the case with the Roero Arneis DOCG Riserva, on which Maria and Francesco have decided to bet. It offers interesting and evolved scents, which are able to surprise those who still believe that whites must be drunk within the year.
To Maria, it reminds one of beautifully structured French wines. Will you agree with her?
Sight
It is straw yellow.
Nose
It has hints of aromatic herbs and evolved fruit. Its aroma is intense and persistent.
Taste
On the palate it is dry, savoury, well structured and very harmonious.
Pairing tips
Try it with elaborate white meat or fish dishes. Alternatively, it is excellent with mature cheeses and served as an aperitif. You can also sip it alone at the end of a meal.
It’s your guy if…
…You appreciate structured, full-bodied white wines.
