Freisa is an indigenous Piedmont grape very similar to nebbiolo, genetically, but richer in anthocyanins.
In addition, these grapes are difficult to vinify, but when the winemaker’s work in the cellar respects the raw material, the result is extremely satisfying.
That is why Alan takes this “sagrin” (Piedmontese dialect for headache) and with dedication and care produces his Freisa. A fresh and enveloping wine, all to be discovered.
Sagrin could therefore not be missing from the label, and it tells a truth that is interesting to know and share with those who are not yet aware of it.
