Fata d’Oro is a fancy name that fully describes the characteristics of this white wine with its golden color and a lightness reminiscent of a fairy’s flight.

It is a young wine, to be consumed in the vintage, not very structured, but pleasant to the palate and particularly suitable for aperitifs.

To make it, the Borgogno family vinifies its own favorita grapes from a small plot of land in the Roero.

Here, the sandy soils are particularly suited to the cultivation of this grape variety that came to us along the ancient salt routes, routes that have always linked the Alba area to Liguria.

In the past, the favorita was not used to make wine, but was consumed by families as a table grape.

The cluster of the favorita is medium-sized, cylindrical and elongated with a golden yellow grape.

Processing in the vineyard follows the same steps as in other vineyards, namely winter pruning, fruit set, cleaning and cutting of shoots in summer. The cycle ends with the harvest during the second half of September.

After that in the winery, crushing and destemming begin, and the must undergoes alcoholic fermentation at a constantly low temperature (17-18°C).

The wine is stored in stainless steel tanks, and bottling generally takes place in the spring.
